Our client Tarmac supports charity firework display

The community firework display being held by Buxton Round Table and Buxton Lions went with a bang thanks to a donation from Tarmac’s Tunstead site.

Tarmac donated £100 towards the event held at Buxton Cricket Club, which featured childrens’ rides, candy floss, burgers and sausages and mulled wine as refreshments.   The firework display supports local charities and initiatives, including ‘message in a bottle’ which is a simple but effective way to keep people’s personal and medical items where they can be found in an emergency.  The Lions Club also supports High Peak Athletics club to develop young talent, with over 40 children attending weekly training sessions, amongst a number of other local community projects.

Charles Kitchen, President of Buxton & District Lions Club said: “We were really pleased that Tarmac were able to support us again. The firework display attracts hundreds of people from around the area.  It was a fantastic night and a great way to bring the community together.”

Viv Russell, Lime and Powders Director at Tarmac, said: “It was great to be able to support the Buxton Rotary Club and Lions’ community fireworks display.  This type of event is really worthwhile as it brings people of all ages together and raises money for local good causes.”
