Tarmac sponsors Buxton Well Dressing Festival

Tarmac’s Tunstead site in Buxton has again pledged its support to the annual Buxton Well Dressing festival, by donating over £1,000.

The site, which includes a quarry, plus a cement and lime plant, has supported the popular festival for the past few years. This year its donation will cover the sponsorship of safety barriers used for crowd safety during the carnival event.

Viv Russell, Director of Lime and Powders at Tarmac in Tunstead, said: “The Well Dressing is one of the most popular events in Buxton’s calendar and we are delighted to be involved again this year.”

Christine Gould, Committee Member for Buxton Well Dressings, said: “We would like to thank Tarmac for making the donation which is very gratefully received. The Well Dressing Carnival and Festival would not be able to continue on the scale it does without the help and support of local businesses.”

The Buxton Well Dressing Carnival & Festival takes place between 3rd and 11th July. It includes a wide range of activities for all the family, including a duck race, treasure hunt, carnival parade and concert in the park.  This year, Carnival Day in Buxton is 9th July, starting at 2pm. This free event includes entertainment throughout the town and is one of the largest Carnivals in the North West of England.
