Dragonfly PR gets a bake on for charity bake off

The Dragonfly PR team has raised £50 for Barnsley Hospice by taking part in The Big Barnsley Bake Off event.

Our staff worked hard baking delicious treats including crispy buns, brownies, scones, cheesecake and lemon drizzle cake and selling them to staff and visitors in and around the offices.

Emma Holman, one of the main organisers of the Bake-Off here at Dragonfly PR said: “We have really enjoyed taking part in the Big Barnsley Bake Off and raising money for Barnsley Hospice. Although we were selling chocolate cakes and buns on one of the hottest days of the year, people were really supportive and it was great fun to be involved.  We hope we have helped Barnsley Hospice to reach their target for their Bake-Off.  It is a fantastic charity and we are pleased to be supporting them again.”

As a company, we raised money for Barnsley Hospice back in May. After donating £1 for every survey completed about our new website, raising £60 in total.

All money raised from our Bake Off will go towards providing specialist, compassionate care to hundreds of local people with life-limiting illnesses and their families from all over Barnsley.

Sam Nixon, Celebrity MasterChef and CBBC’s Junior Bake Off star from Barnsley, is supporting the Hospice’s Big Bake Off Campaign and will present the individual, company or school that raises the most money with a certificate for Master Baker 2016.

Sam Silverwood, Fundraiser for Barnsley Hospice, said: "We are thrilled for the continued support from Dragonfly PR, and grateful to all who took part in the Big Bake Off. All the donations we receive help us to provide excellent care and support for patients and their families."
