5 reasons why you should consider having a new website

- You need to be at the top of the search engine
What Google does brilliantly is to scan through the billions of web pages of content out there and deliver what it classes as the most relevant and useful information to the end user. Sites that are regularly updated are more likely to be found in a Google search. When we design and build a new website for a client, SEO is an essential part of this. We don’t just design a site that is easy to navigate and looks good, we give careful consideration to key search terms and phrases, optimising their usage to ensure you have the best chance of being found by potential customers. In 2015, a report concluded that time spent browsing the Internet on a mobile device was 4.3 hours per day (on average) compared with 2.8 hours per day on desktop devices and this trend is set to continue! This just goes to show how people are searching for website whilst they’re out on the move, rather than waiting until we’re in front of our PC. Businesses therefore need to make sure their websites are mobile responsible and interactive. The website also needs to offer a really good user experience on mobile devices, otherwise you may find you are losing out. So our advice is put mobile first and let us help you!
- It gives you a chance to review and set out a clear digital strategy
If your website has not been redesigned for a few years, there’s a good chance that you may not have a digital strategy in place. In simple terms, a digital strategy is a plan to succeed online. We can help with your digital strategy, starting with your website – analysing what you hope to achieve through the site, set some goals and targets, as well as a path to achieve them. If you are a building product manufacturer, such as a roof tile manufacturer, for example, it may be that your digital strategy could be made up of some, or all of the following:
- Regular social media posts to attract architects through Twitter, you may be looking at attracting interior designers through Pinterest and builders/contractors through Facebook and Linkedin to connect directly with potential end clients.
- In the plan, could be creating ‘how to’ videos to demonstrate your products in a clear and simple way, this could be in the form of a CPD seminar for architects, or more practically based for builders and installers.
- Blog articles will undoubtedly be part of the digital strategy. We would write blogs containing unique, authoritative content with a good spread of keywords. We would also look at how blogs could be shared through Linkedin and Twitter.
- Monthly e-newsletters work really well and we could design and write these, sending them to customers and prospects telling them about your latest construction project or new product.
