Film: The future of marketing
With a huge 78%* of people watching videos online every week, and with videos expected to take up 57% of consumer internet traffic in 2015, it’s no surprise this year has been dubbed the year of video marketing.
In our latest blog we take a look at the widely labelled ‘future’ of content marketing and how to make the most of it.
Video marketing has come along at a time when businesses are trying to find new ways to connect with their customers. It has proven to stand out on social media, making a change from written posts and static images and is a quick and easy way for customers to digest information.
Here are our top tips to make the most of video marketing:
- Plot your posts like a campaign
Rather than uploading all of your information into one longer video, it may be worth planning out a schedule of videos that allow you to span the posts over a few weeks. This will keep your customers interested and coming back to see the latest video instalment.
- Keep your videos concise
The rising popularity of Twitter’s six second video sharing platform, Vine, is a great example of why short videos work best on social media – the site was launched in 2013 and now has over 1.5 billion** daily video plays and an estimated 40 million users. Information on social media is expected to be instant, so the more concise the better.
- Offer advice
Tips and tutorial videos have been found to be the most successful on YouTube, especially with the recent surge in Vloggers (video bloggers). These types of videos work really well for B2B businesses and can link closely in with product launches and exhibitions.
- Don’t forget your call to action
A common mistake with video creation is the absence of a call to action. After watching your video, your viewers may be interested in finding out more about your products or services and there are many ways you can make this straightforward for them. This could range from adding a click-through button to the end of your video to including an interactive contact form directly on the screen.
