Horbury Group Colleagues Work Hard For a Great Cause

Employees from South Yorkshire based Horbury Group, the company which provides construction solutions to developers, building owners and main contractors throughout the UK, have contributed a day’s pay from their salaries to raise more than £16,000 for local charity, Work Ltd.

Work Ltd provides life skills and occupational training for people with learning disabilities in Sheffield and surrounding areas. Members of staff from Horbury Group took part in the company’s Virtual Work for a Day initiative to the raise vital funds for the charity.

In order to maximise the amount raised, Horbury Group then added Employers National Insurance contributions and matched the final amount, effectively trebling the value of each donation.

Chief Executive of Horbury Group, Trevor Wragg, said: “We’re really pleased that a number of our staff agreed to donate a day’s pay to Work Ltd, it is a fantastic charity that does a lot to help members of the community that need it most. We hope the funds will go a long way to helping the charity and the people it supports.”

The company has adopted Work Ltd as its nominated charity for this year and so ran the initiative to raise money on its behalf.

To-date Horbury Group has donated just short of £50,000 to Work Ltd.  This has been done by other Charitable Events; Total Warrior, Dress Down Friday’s, Tuck Shop and Golf Days, in addition to carrying out refurbishment works at Work Ltd, transforming their classrooms into modern, airy, state of the art facilities.

The Horbury Group consists of seven companies and provides a complete national service to the construction industry, including full building interior fit out, refurbishment and maintenance. The company has regional offices in Rotherham, London and Cardiff and operates nationally.
